Two kingpins, two different jobs
A traditional single kingpin truck gives you one pivot to work with. SuperCarve 2.0 gives you two, one closer to the board and one closer to the road. Each has its own kingpin nut, its own barrel bushing on the board side and cone bushing on the road side, and its own effect on how the truck moves underneath you.
That matters because carving and stability are not opposites you have to choose between at the factory. They are two separate adjustments happening at two separate points on the same truck. Understanding that is really the whole trick to getting SuperCarve 2.0 to feel right.
Start from a known baseline, not a guess
Before you touch anything, set both the board-side and road-side kingpin nuts on the front truck so that two full threads are visible beyond each nut. Do the same on the rear truck. This gives you a consistent, balanced starting point rather than a random tightness that makes it hard to judge what changed.
From there, stand on the board without riding it and rock your weight from heel to toe. You are feeling for how much the trucks want to move. If it feels loose and vague, or if it feels locked up and reluctant to turn, you now have a reference point to adjust from in either direction.
Turning trucks into a stability platform
Tightening a kingpin nut increases how much the bushing gets compressed, which reduces how far the truck can turn and adds support. If you are riding faster and want the board to feel planted rather than twitchy, this is the adjustment that gets you there. Turn the nut clockwise in small steps, and you will see less thread visible above the nut as it gets tighter.
This is worth thinking about if you are covering long sealed stretches at higher speed, the kind of riding you get on Austin's flat arterial roads or the boardwalks running along Miami's coast. Speed rewards a truck that resists over-turning. A setup that is too loose at that pace can start to feel unpredictable underfoot, which is not a feeling you want to discover the hard way.
Turning trucks into a carving platform

Tuning the two pivots differently
Once you understand the basic tighten-or-loosen relationship, the more interesting move is treating the two kingpins differently. A setup that works well for a lot of riders keeps the road-side nut a little looser, around two visible threads, so the board initiates a turn easily. The board-side nut then gets tightened further, up around four visible threads, so there is more support once you are actually leaned into a deeper carve.
Think of it as an easy entry with a firmer hold. The truck lets you tip into the turn without a fight, then stiffens up as you commit to it. This is a tuning example rather than a fixed rule, and it will not suit every rider or every board, but it is a genuinely useful way to think about the two pivots as separate tools rather than one combined setting.
Test properly before you trust it
After any adjustment, do the static heel-to-toe test again on flat ground. Then take the board out for a short, controlled ride at low speed rather than immediately pushing it hard. Run a few figure eights to feel how the truck transitions between heel-side and toe-side turns. If something still feels off, stop and adjust again in small steps rather than making a second big change before you have properly felt the first one.
Bring the Y-tool with you when you test. Riders who wait until they get home to make the next adjustment usually end up guessing at what to change, because the feeling fades fast once you are off the board.
