The last mile is where most boards let you down

Commuters figure this out fast. They buy a board thinking about the fun part, the open stretch, the carve down a long block, and then reality shows up in the form of a busted sidewalk section, a grass median, a parking lot full of gravel, and a train station with stairs. The board that felt perfect on smooth asphalt suddenly feels like a liability.

Last-mile commuting is not one type of terrain. It is all of them, sometimes within the same ten minutes. That is the problem most electric skateboards are not built to solve.

Why wheel choice defines the commute

Most boards ship with street wheels or all-terrain tires. Pick one, live with it. Street wheels are fast and responsive on clean asphalt but punishing on anything rough.
